Strumming Lessons

Lesson 1
Downstrokes & using a Metronome

In this first lesson, we focus on building a solid rhythmic foundation using simple downstrokes and a metronome. You'll learn how to hold the pick correctly, develop control over your picking hand, and play with steady timing.

Lesson 2
Adding upstrokes and improving coordination

In this lesson, we build on the foundation of downstrokes by introducing upstrokes to create smoother, more dynamic strumming patterns. You’ll learn the correct motion for upstrokes, how to alternate between down and up effectively, and how to stay in time with the help of a metronome.

Lesson 3
My go to strumming pattern for Acoustic Guitar

In this lesson, we introduce your first full strumming pattern: Down Down Up Up Down (D D U U D). This classic pattern is incredibly versatile and forms the rhythmic backbone of countless acoustic songs across pop, rock, folk, and country.
