Workshop Overview:
Our Introduction to Guitar Workshop is a three-hour, in-person session designed for complete beginners who want to start playing guitar in a friendly and supportive environment. We begin right at the very start, covering the parts of the guitar, how to hold and tune it, and the basics of getting a clean sound. Over the course of the workshop, you’ll learn a few essential chords, how to strum them, and how to play a simple melody. By the end of the session, you’ll have a much clearer understanding of how the guitar works and, more importantly, you’ll have already started making music. If you’ve always fancied learning guitar and want a focused crash course to get you started, the Introduction to Guitar Workshop is a great place to begin and it also makes a fantastic gift for someone who has always talked about picking up the instrument. The workshop is run by James Kuhnel, Head of Guitar at Kirklees Guitar School, an established music school based in Denby Dale. Kirklees Guitar School teaches students of all ages through one-to-one tuition, group classes and its online Academy, with a strong focus on making guitar playing practical, enjoyable and accessible. James has spent years teaching guitarists at every stage of their development, so the workshop gives complete beginners the opportunity to learn in person with an experienced local tutor and leave with the foundations they need to continue playing confidently.
