About
Across these seven lessons, you’ll build a clear, step-by-step system for understanding the guitar fretboard from the ground up. We start by breaking down why the notes matter and simplifying the way you see the neck, moving away from confusion and towards a linear, string-by-string approach. From there, you’re introduced to the “Unitar” concept to isolate single-string thinking, before expanding into sharps and flats and how they sit across the fretboard. Each stage gradually adds structure, beginning with the high E string and its role as an anchor, then building outwards to other key strings. Throughout the course, you’ll also use attached worksheets to test your understanding and reinforce each concept at home. As the course progresses, you develop practical frameworks like the L-shape and octave patterns to connect notes across the neck rather than just memorising them in isolation. By working through the D, A, and G strings, you build multiple reference points and learn how the same visual patterns repeat in different positions. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to locate notes quickly, understand how they relate to each other across strings, and confidently navigate the fretboard using repeatable shapes and mental models instead of guesswork. The included worksheets throughout ensure you can actively apply and check your progress at every stage.
